Today, at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, in order to implement the state program “Ruhani Zangiru”, was organized the training seminar on the topic of “Prevention of infectious diseases: meningococcal infection”. The Head of the Infectious Diseases Department of WKSMU named after M. Ospanov Meirambek Kurmangazin, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor, chief infectiologist of the oblast, also Murat Mirmanov, the head of the Epidemiology Department of the public health department of Aktobe oblast, and Zhumagul Zhumagazina, the head of the of ARSU polyclinic attended the seminar.
During the seminar, the chief infectious disease specialist in the oblast, Meirambek Saginayevich, spoke in detail about the epidemiological situation of meningococcal infection in Kazakhstan, the characteristics of the pathogen, the transmission routes and clinical manifestations, the consequences of meningococcal infections and preventive measures. According to him, the main preventive measures include observance of the basic rules of personal hygiene, restriction of contacts during the period of infection, restriction of visits to crowded places, as well as active sports.
In turn, Zhumagul Takenovna, the head of the polyclinic at the university reminded students that, thanks to the Damu Med application, they can make an appointment with a doctor and contact them with questions that interest them. She also noted that since October 1, flu vaccination has started at the student clinic.
At the end of the event, students were asked questions regarding prevention and vaccination, to which detailed answers were received.
