Scientists of Zhubanov University presented research projects for implementation in the production of the oblast

Today, at the dialogue site of Zhubanov University, scientists from ARSU named after K. Zhubanov met with companies-investors of Aktobe oblast.

During the seminar, the consolidation of the efforts of scientists from ARSU named after K. Zhubanov and investor companies of Aktobe oblast discuss how to

resolve technological, industrial and environmental problems of business enterprises with the subsequent transfer of the results of scientific research and practical development to subsoil users and customers.

The event was attended by the university administration, deans of faculties, and scientists of ARSU named after K.Zhubanov, representatives of the Akimat Industrial Innovative Development Department, representatives of companies, and Statistics Department of Akimat of Aktobe oblast.

The head of the industrial-innovative development of Aktobe oblast Darkhan Yermaganbetov welcomed the participants of the seminar and noted that today’s projects can be useful for the production of our oblast. “The scientific developments of our scientists should bring positive results. I hope you will find for yourself the necessary projects for their use in production. Also, within the framework of the Year of Youth, we pay great attention to young scientists,” said Darkhan Zhanyskhanovich.

Therefore, the vice-rector of Zhubanov University on strategic development, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, Professor Kuanyshbek Shunkeyev presented 3 projects. The theme of the first project was “Development of Mobile Scintillation Dosimetric Detectors Technology for the Military Space Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan” based on a scientific approach to enhance the conversion efficiency of scintillators by reducing the lattice symmetry, which improves the accuracy of pulse registration when exposed to various types of ionizing radiation.

“The way to achieve the goal is to develop an experimental method of lowering the lattice symmetry by uniaxial deformation (<100> and <110>), leading to an increase in the intensity of the intrinsic luminescence of solid-state scintillators,” voiced Kuanyshbek Shunkeyev in his report. He also presented a block diagram of an experimental setup for measuring the luminescence characteristics of scintillation materials and told about the stages of creating a mobile scintillation-dosimetric detector.

The second project was based on utilization of alcohol production wastes (bards) based on the enrichment technology of the diatomite of Aktobe’s field. “The stock of diatomites in the Republic of Kazakhstan is concentrated in the Mugalzhar district of Aktobe oblast. Diatomite is used in many industries,” says Kuanyshbek Shunkeevich.

Diatomite is able to condition the soil and retain moisture, beneficial trace elements and organic fertilizers in the soil, due to its high adsorption. High silicon concentration up to 80% (SiO2) in the composition of diatomite strengthens the plant stems, increases the yield (33-40%) and ensures the safety of the crop (20-25%) due to the elimination of harmful parasites. Diatomite granules contain up to 70% amorphous silicon, which makes it silicon fertilizer.

For the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Aktobe oblast, which is a territory of risky farming, this product is very necessary.

Further, the Vice-Rector spoke about the benefits of bards, enriched with diatomite in the form of granules, such as: absorbing moisture, absorbing a sharp unpleasant sour smell, enriching bards with silicon, calcium and other minerals, antiseptic properties, increasing the energy composition of the feed, are well transported by mechanical and pneumatic transport without breaking uniformity , it is convenient for unpacked transportations and full mechanization of distribution of forage on farms. The unique structure of the pores of the cell walls of diatoms is used to filter and clean water purification systems from impurities and parasites, and is also used to clean oil products, fats, vegetable oils, vinegar, beer, wine and fruit juices. For Aktobe, the purification of drinking water from parasites and hexavalent chromium is relevant. According to the speaker, diatomite is used in medicine. To eliminate parasites from the body contribute to the biological mass based on diatomite, due to its structural and absorption properties. “Silica (silicon dioxide), entering the body, turns into a biologically active orthosilicic acid, which has a beneficial effect on human health,” – says K. Shunkeyev.

In addition, in the third report he presented the program complex of space monitoring of emergencies on the territory of Aktobe oblast. This complex allows you to solve problems related to the prediction of the consequences and the development of emergencies such as floods and droughts. Design of hydraulic structures to improve the efficiency of their operation and the level of safety of natural-economic systems; expertise of existing hydraulic structures and drainage communications in case of emergency; determination of optimal hydrological regimes for flooding of floodplain areas in the case of regulated flow.

The next project, entitled “Evaluation of TEP smelting dust from crushing high-carbon ferrochrome at in a DC-type arc furnace,” was targeted at TNK Kazchrome According to Ph.D., associate professor of the department “Metallurgy and Mining”; Utegen Sariev PKE is dust-like waste of crushing and fractionation of high-carbon ferrochrome, class size minus 1 mm. In this dust, the metal chromium content varies between 64-70%, and the annual total production at the plants of JSC TNK Kazchrome (hereinafter referred to as Kazchrome) is about 5 thousand tons. By their nature, the thin dust classes of high-carbon ferrochrome increase the probability of irretrievable losses during their storage and transportation. Processing of this dust into commercial products is an urgent task of involving manufactured raw materials in the metallurgical redistribution. “On the basis of our university, the DCPT-1 DC furnace with a capacity of 1.8 MVA operates. During the smelting of this material in our furnace, the average weight of an ingot from one heat was 470 kg on average. When extracting 89.53%, the average amount of a given SCE for smelting will be 525 kg. In one shift, 3-4 melts were produced, for one day, it will be 9 heats at least, which in terms of a year (340 days) will be: 1600 tons / year,” said Utegen Sariev.

Other important projects of Zhubanov University scientists were also presented, such as the laboratory for testing building materials and asphalt concrete, the application of additive technologies and robotics in industry, medicine, agriculture and engineering systems, the production of polymer drainage systems, the rationale for the use of cyclical flow technology using steeply inclined conveyor in deep quarries in Kazakhstan, an autonomous rotor unit for extinguishing fire and new features of the Topomat program ik ROBUR– Roads.

Following the results, interesting questions of the seminar were discussed. In turn, the Department of Statistics of Akimat of Aktobe oblast based on today’s projects will compile statistics on the use of these developments in production.
