Togyzkumalak is a board game, designed to develop logical mathematical thinking and endurance. According to scientists, archaeologists the game originated about 4,000 years ago. This complex, interesting game has philosophical roots, develops thinking, intelligence, speed of reaction.
In this regard, within the framework of the Year of Youth among the student teams of universities, an urban competition in the national sport-togyzkumalak took place. The organizers of which were the professional and creative faculty of ARSUnamed after K.Zhubanov and the public fund “Kabak Baba”.
The main goal of the competition is to promote national sports among youth, the formation of a healthy lifestyle, and the improvement of students’ skills.
At the opening of the competition, Rahim Beknazarov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation greeted the participants. “Sport as a tool for a healthy lifestyle. When raising a worthy citizen and leader of the country, sport is of great importance. That is why sport is an important part of life in the modern world,”said the Vice-Rector.
In turn, the chairman of the public fund “Kabak Baba” Amantai Umbetai said that Togyzkumalak is one of the clearest examples of the contribution of the Kazakhs to the development of world culture and civilization. “Intellectual games have a special place in the history of mankind, in the development of civilizations. Thanks to them are formed logical thinking and perseverance. Therefore, over the centuries, these games have passed from generation to generation. Thanks to independence, we were able to rejoice the national heritage” wishing good luck to the participants said he.
The competition in the classic game togyzkumalak was attended by 5 teams from Zhubanov University, WKSMU named after M.Ospanov, AU named after S. Baishev, Aktobe Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbayev and Kazakh-Russian International University.
According to the results of the game, the team of Zhubanov University became the winner of the Cup. Second place went to the team WKSMU named after M.Ospanov. And in third place is the team AU named after S. Baishev.
Also, all participants received certificates and valuable prizes.
