Today, in order to support talented youth, the II stage of the XI Republican subject Olympiad among university students in the specialty 5В070800- “Oil and Gas Business” started at Zhubanov University.
Students of eight universities attended the competition: Kyzylorda State University named after Korkyt Ata, South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov, West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University named after Zhangir Khan, Karaganda State Technical University, Aktobe University named after S. Baishev, Caspian State University of Technologies and Engineering named after S. Yesenov, Caspian University and Aktobe Regional State University named after K. Zhubanov.
Kuanyshbek Shunkeyev, Vice-Rector for Strategic Issues of the ARSU, greeted Olympics participants. “Today’s event, organized to support young people, contributes to the development of professional skills of future specialists, stimulates the student’s educational and cognitive activity, as well as the selection of talented students,” said the Vice-Rector.
The Republican Olympiad will be held in two disciplines included in the compulsory component of the State Educational Standard of the specialty: “Basics of Oil and Gas Business”, “Technique and Technology of Oil Production”.
According to the head of the department “Oil and gas business”, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Raigul Orynbasar, the Republican subject Olympiad consists of two rounds. The first stage is testing, and on the second round, students will have to complete tasks in writing consisting of theoretical and practical parts. “Assessment of students’ knowledge will be carried out for each discipline separately in points. Each task is estimated at 100 points,” noted she.
April 11 will be the official closing of the Olympiad, which will be announced the names of the winners.
