Today, at Zhubanov University was held the grand opening of an international forum on the theme “Management for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Kazakhstan” with the participation of leading experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Bulgaria, Turkey, China, Korea, Estonia, Germany. Among them was representatives of 25 universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as foreign scientists and experts from 10 countries of the world.
The main goal of the forum was to increase the potential of higher education based on the experience of foreign partner universities and to build an effective partnership. Participants and guests of the forum in the Students Palace were greeted by an exhibition of national costumes. Here they were presented a variety of women’s national outfits.
The work of the international forum began with a plenary session of the participants. Representatives of leading universities in the world shared best practices in organizing management and building partnerships.
In his welcoming speech, Rector of Zhubanov University Bauyrzhan Erdembekov said: “We strive for quality, which means that we need to integrate more closely with foreign partner universities. As part of our Forum, we plan to present the following new centers and offices: “Center of Polish Culture and Language”, “Conference Hall of International Cooperation”, the office of volunteers for the expansion of international academic mobility of students – INVO”.
10 invited experts on higher education management made presentations at the forum. These are representatives from Nazarbayev University, universities of Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia and Belarus.
In her report, the dean of the Higher School of Education at Nazarbayev University, Associate Professor Aida Sagintayeva spoke about the “quality assurance system of educational programs of the Higher School of Education at Nazarbayev University.” She focused on how graduate attributes are formed, how educational programs are developed, and shared their structure. Thanking the leadership of ARSU for organizing a large-scale event, Aida Kystaubaevna noted that today the issues of further cooperation between Nazarbayev University and Zhubanova University are being considered.
The director of the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the University of Economics in Bydgoszcz, Dr. PhD Alexander Scalia made a report on the theme “About the modern requirements for the competencies of top management in universities of the European Union on the example of Poland”. Note that this university is a strategic partner of Zhubanov University with the University of Economics, as well as the universities of Kastamonu (Turkey) and Beijing Oil University have developed joint educational programs on double-diploma education. Today, the Qazaq eli centers of the Kazakh language and culture function in the universities of Poland and Turkey, which were opened in the framework of cooperation with Zhubanov University. During his speech, Alexander Scali presented the film, shot specifically for today’s forum. The film’s actors were the leadership and faculty of the University of Economics, who spoke about the importance of studying several languages and the need for cooperation with foreign universities.
“Today, more than 125 universities and educational organizations abroad of the USA, Europe, Asia and the CIS countries are partners of ARSU. To expand academic ties with the countries of the European Union, Zhubanov University announced its participation in 6 projects under the international program “Erasmus” and 4 under the program “International Credit Mobility”. Zhubanov University introduced into the base of the QS rating, about 1000 data of academic experts to survey their opinions about our university. Over the past year, there has been a significant quantitative growth – 80% of foreign students,” shared the director of the Center for International Cooperation at Zhubanov University Gulzhan Shokym.
According to the Advisor for Strategic Development “Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Gulnar Iskakova, today’s forum offers great opportunities in the implementation of joint projects with foreign universities. She also noted that
the forum allows us to learn from the experience of foreign colleagues in the work of the quality management of education in Kazakhstani universities.
Discussions and proposals on creating conditions for the sustainable development of the quality of education in the system of higher education in Kazakhstan were further voiced at the panel sessions of the forum.
According to the results of the plenary session for the active cooperation the medal of K. Zhubanov was awarded the director of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the University of Economics in Bydgoszcz, Dr. PhD Alexander Scali, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Kastamonu University, Doctor of Religious Sciences, Professor Ali Rafet Ozkan and Head of the Computer Engineering Production Facility at Technokent of Istanbul University, Dr. PhD, Professor Atakan Kurt.
The forum will last until April 19, 2019.
