«Startup bolashak-Menin armanym» – day 2

Today, the Startup Academy of Zhubanov University hosts the 2nd day of the regional selection stage of “Startup Bolashak – Menin Armanym “start-up projects competition. The main goal of the contest is to attract the most active and gifted young people, support socially important business initiatives of young entrepreneurs aimed at improving the quality of life standards, as well as transferring advanced ones.

The participants of the competition listened to the trainings under the name “Choice of a niche” and “Business Model Canvas”, which were conducted by the Director of the Center for the Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of ARSU named after K. Zhubanov Asel Shetieva. After receiving the theoretical knowledge, the methods proposed in the training will be used in practice together with the mentors.

The director of Aktobe information and news portal Gulnur Eshchanova, the owner of the network of speech therapy and defectology cabinets Aliya Umirzakova, the founder of Media Craft studio Berik Koymashev, the co-founder of Media Pro agency Alibek Bayaubaev participated in the session as future mentors.

About 500 applications were collected for participation in the competition in Aktobe oblast. Today 74 projects were presented, among which are startups of university students, colleges, schools, districts and independent participants.

Sultan Murat, 1st year student of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics: “Today I am submitting a project to chat bots. Chat bot is an artificial intelligence that answers your questions, records requests, saves your contacts. These chat bots we do for large businesses. Today I work with Russian entrepreneurs. For example, I have already created chat bots for the company Make me quick. Being interested in innovations in programming, this participant began to develop this project, which is already generating income. A similar project was presented to the mentors by the team “Digital net”, which included students of the Physics and Mathematics Department of ARSU. “In addition to creating chat bots, we presented the project Smart Art today. This is vector graphics used in drawing applications,”says Tamerlan Zhamalov. It should be noted that the projects of the Digital net team interested almost all mentors.

One of the independent participants was a resident of Aktobe, Guilder Zeinolla, who learned about the contest through the Whats Up mailing list. “This competition was for me the motivation for creating a social project. I want to help people who need support in finding employment, housing, and in finding documents. Unfortunately, there are more and more such people on the streets, and I would like to get land on which they will plant and grow vegetables, and then be able to sell them. Further, our project would help them in drawing up the necessary documents,” says Guilden.

Independent participants Bagdagul Umirzakova and Manas Myrzabay also made a social project called “World art”. Their project aims to support and prepare young people from the age of 16-30 to oratory, theater, film and model art. “We have creative centers around the city exclusively for children. We would like to help young people in a creative direction,”shared Bagdagul. To date, their team already has teachers of oratory, model art and an experienced video editor.

The results will be announced tomorrow and the projects will be pitched.
