Rector of Zhubanov University Bauyrzhan Yerdembekov took part in the international educational summit «QS in Сonversation» in Kaunas (Lithuania), organized by the international rating Agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
The “QS Conversation” platform brought together heads of higher educational institutions, scientists and experts in the field of education, science, art, journalism, business, Economics and health, representatives of international organizations from Kazakhstan, Russia, USA, Lithuania, Latvia, Great Britain, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Ethiopia and other countries.
The international summit “Raising awareness through international cooperation: mobility, recognition, branding” discussed a number of topical issues in the field of higher education. Among the key topics were improving the international academic reputation of universities, strengthening the dynamics of cooperation of educational institutions, the development of strategic directions of internationalization, employment of students, through the development of entrepreneurial skills and creative thinking.
The meeting participants also discussed ways to achieve their identity in the competitive space through personal branding and ratings.
It should be noted that within the framework of the international educational summit “QS in Conversation” the rector of Zhubanov University Bauyrzhan Yerdembekov met with the rector of the University of Vitautas Magnus Juozas Augutis. The heads of universities discussed the implementation of the program of double-degree education in bachelor’s degree programs in natural Sciences and IT with the second diploma of UIB. Bauyrzhan Yerdembekov also talked with students who are currently studying in Lithuania under the academic mobility programs.
To date, the Zhubanov University actively cooperates with the University of Vytautas Magnus. The agreement between the educational institutions was signed in 2017. During the cooperation 15 students of ARSU majors “Biology”, “Chemistry”, “Ecology”, “Physics”, “Mathematics”, “Computer science and software”, “Foreign Philology” were trained at the University of Vytautas Magnus under the program of academic mobility. Of these, 7 students were trained for free in the framework of the project “Bilateral students.” The intensive development of international cooperation between the two universities allows students and masters to study in various international programs, as well as undergo scientific training and professional practice.
