THE FORMAT OF THE SUMMER SESSION WAS EXPLAINED FOR STUDENTS

For two days the management of Zhubanov University has been conducting active explanatory work for the faculty and students of the university. The main issue is to hold a summer session and final state certification in 2019-2020 academic year.

During the online meetings for the heads of structural units of the University, heads of departments, deans of faculties and more than 600 teachers were told about the procedure of conducting the session in a distance format. According to Bibigul Abenova, Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodical Work, the summer examination session will be held through the mechanism of evaluation of students’ intermediate attestation by evaluating the academic achievements of students on the indicators of current control in each discipline, and at the request of the student, on the basis of oral examination. Thus, students are offered several options for passing the session: setting a grade for the discipline on the basis of current grades and average score or taking the exam in a distance format (via the Zoom Styling service). The state exam on discipline “Modern history of Kazakhstan” will be conducted in the form of computer test. Also vice-rector has stopped on actual questions on final state certification, protection of diploma works in conditions of distant education.

The majority of students have also already been acquainted with the order of conducting summer session. Clarification of questions is carried out with the help of all electronic resources on the lessons, curatorial hours, during live broadcasts in social networks at each faculty. According to the faculty, students find this format fair and objective because they showed their level of knowledge throughout the semester, attended classes and completed assignments.

It should be noted that tomorrow there will be a conference of Rector Bauyrzhan Erdembekov with members of the student parliament and a live broadcast on two accounts of the university, where students will be able to learn in detail about the upcoming exams and ask their questions.
