INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION BETWEEN ZUBANOV UNIVERSITY AND ITALIAN UNIVERSITIES

In May 2020, K. Zhubanov   Aktobe Regional State University and the leading Italian Link Campus University signed an agreement on cooperation in education and science. The agreement opens an opportunity to implement joint international educational projects and advanced scientific research, generate new educational and cognitive technologies that meet the needs of the modern post-industrial information society.

Zhubanov University has been actively cooperating with many major universities since 2018. In order to study the experience of Italian universities in the modernization of higher education and the organization of training and research activities, in 2019, within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, the management of Zhubanov University visited many Italian universities (University of Genoa, University of Rome (III Roma Tre), UNINETTUNO International Telematics University, University of Milan). During the visit the issues of joint participation in grant projects were discussed and agreements were signed on the development of promising areas of cooperation between the universities.

The first steps in implementing the priorities of the agreement were made in the framework of the program “Involvement of foreign scientists”. Alessandro Figus, Professor of Link Campus University, gave a series of lectures in English for students of historical and philological faculties of Zhubanov University, highlighting the problems of power, ideology, interrelation of political life with socio-cultural values and traditions, as well as trends and regularities of historical development of political and legal thought.

Professor Alessandro Figus held a seminar “Development of strategic directions of internationalization of the university” for the faculty and heads of structural subdivisions of the university. The seminar discussed the problems of Kazakhstan’s participation in the European Higher Education Area and implementation of the Bologna Process principles. They also touched upon the use of credit technology for education, evaluation of higher education based on European standards and creation of a single European research space.

Certainly, the signed agreement on cooperation between K. Zhubanov   Aktobe Regional State University and Link Campus University will promote the development of Kazakhstan-Italian international relations in the field of education and science.
