ABAI AND NATIONAL SPIRITUALITY
Today, in order to promote the heritage of Abai, education of young people through the teachings of Abai, exchange views and ideas of modern Abai scholars, a national online conference on “Abai and national spirituality” dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev was held at Zhubanov University. Reports by famous philologists and historians were heard at the meeting.
Professor Bauyrzhan Yerdembekov opened the conference with a report entitled “Actual problems of Abai Studies”. Bauyrzhan Yerdembekov emphasized the problem of teaching the heritage of Abai from school age, training specialists who will competently convey the essence of works, statements, life history of the great thinker to the younger generation. Rector of Zhubanov University also noted the work of the research center “Abaitanu zhane ylttyk ruhaniyat” and talked about the establishment of common research organizations on Abai studies with the support of the state, which will promote Abai around the world.
Among the scientists participating in the conference, was a professor of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Mekemtas Myrzakhmetov. The scientist noted that studying the heritage of Abai Kunanbaev is a national duty.
Participants of a meeting repeatedly emphasized an urgency of Abai heritage, importance of its ideas in modernization of the nation. So, Doctor of philosophical sciences, professor Amangeldy Aitaly expressed that works of Abai cover all life, character and world outlook of the nation, mentality and religion. Therefore, it is necessary to use his works rationally in the national modernization.
Murat Sabyr, Doctor of philological sciences, professor, Shakir Ibrayev, professor of the Turkicology Department of L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University, Berik Rakhimov, professor of E.Buketov Karaganda State University, etc. also took part in the conference.
