A book on the history of the university was presented to mark the 85th anniversary of Zhubanov University. The author was Daulet Abenov, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor, who has been teaching at the university since 1987 and has first-hand knowledge of the development of the institution.
The book is an encyclopedia of historical facts about the main institution of higher education in Aktobe region, the changes that occurred over 85 years, and the successes achieved through this. It contains data about the first students, teachers, academic buildings based on the materials of the regional archive.
It is considered that Zhubanov University originates from the opening of the Pedagogical Institute in 1966. According to the author of the book, Daulet Abenov, if we go deeper into history, based on archival materials, it is known that in 1934 the city opened the two-year Teacher Training Institute for secondary school teachers, reorganized in 1948 into the Kazakh Women’s two-year Teacher Training Institute, later – in Aktobe State Pedagogical Institute.
The events described in the book resonate with the history of Aktobe and show the development of national education. The work will be interesting for a wide range of readers, both students, teachers and graduates of the university, and all those who are interested in the history of their native land.
As part of the jubilee celebrations were also presented more than 10 publications of Zhubanov University scholars from the series “Zhubanov Library”, a bibliographical reference book of articles by teachers since 1939 and a catalog of ex-libris from the international exhibition organized by the university to the 175th anniversary of Abai.
