The first Kazakh Scientist-linguist, Turkologist, Professor Kudaibergen Zhubanov was honored. This weekend, the university administration and faculty laid flowers at the monument of K. Zhubanov in honor of the 121st anniversary of the scientist’s birth.
Kudaibergen Zhubanov was born on December 19, 1899 in Akzhar village of Temir district (now Mugalzhar district of Aktobe region). He received his elementary education in the local school, opened by his father Kuan Zhubanov, then in the madrasah “Husainiya” in Orenburg in 1914-1916. In 1928 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Oriental Languages, in 1929-1932 did his postgraduate study at the Institute of Oriental Languages and the Institute of Language and Thought of the USSR Academy of Sciences in the Turkic languages and general linguistics. Kudaibergen Zhubanov fluently spoke the following languages: Persian, Arabic, German, Turkish, Mongolian, Georgian, Chuvash, Komi, Russian, and Turkic languages.
We remind, in 1990 Aktobe Pedagogical Institute was named after the first professor of Kazakh linguistics, scientist-linguist Kudaibergen Zhubanov. Every year the university holds events dedicated to the scientist and scientific conferences about his works.
