Modernization of the equipment of the scientific center Zhubanov University “Radiation Physics of Materials” continues. The center, which has no analogues in Kazakhstan, is equipped with the spectral complex SDL-2, which is modernized by EQ-99X white laser source, which emits an intense and stable beam of light in a wide range of spectrum (from 170 to 2100 nm). The new equipment will make it possible to conduct unique research and provide scientific support for master’s and doctoral programs in physics. The equipment was purchased under the grant funding project of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Professor K.Sh. Shunkeyev (AR08855672).
To conduct joint experiments on the modernized spectral complex SDL-2 to register excitation and emission spectra of crystals Zhubanov University visited the head of the Laboratory of Electrophysical Measurements of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno – A.Yu. Litskevich. During the visit a series of experiments on measuring luminescence characteristics of alkaline-halide crystals under simultaneous influence of low temperature (80 K), X-ray radiation and uniaxial elastic deformation (less than 1%) were conducted. Joint articles will be published based on the results of the work.
As a reminder, the Center for Radiation Physics of Materials in Zhubanov University conducts research using absorption, thermal activation and luminescence spectroscopy, working in a wide range of spectrum and temperature when the crystal is exposed to radiation, temperature and deformation. The dissertation council on protection of doctoral dissertations in physics functions. Under the guidance of Professor Kuanyshbek Shunkeyev 10 dissertations for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences and PhD were defended.
