Acting Rector of Zhubanov University Rakhym Beknazarov held an online meeting with students on student self-government.
Leaders of student organizations, senators and faculty activists talked about their work, shared their impressions of the events held and projects developed. The meeting also made proposals on the regulatory aspects of the election of student senators, their powers, the introduction of ratings and social surveys.
Asem Albekova, 1st year master’s student of “Geography”, a member of the Republican Student Council under the MES, told about the meetings with the head of the department: “At the meetings of the Council questions of development in the directions that have already been implemented in our university are often raised. For example, our debate club, which celebrated its 5th anniversary, the Student Services Center and online services for students through a mobile app, the Student Parliament, which operates in Zhubanov University for 3 years at a time when many universities are just implementing this system, and many others. This causes pride and a desire to take student government to a higher level.
According to the words of the representatives of Youth committee, joint activity of Department of youth policy and Student parliament bring positive results in the upbringing and development of students, what is proved by projects of Zhubanov youth noted at the republican level.
Participants of the meeting agreed that youth participation in student government helps to develop administrative skills, leadership and purposefulness. Management of university noted that they are ready to support projects of initiative youth and sees in them future colleagues, ready to head structural divisions, to develop alma mater and to work for the benefit of Kazakhstan.
