Directors and teachers of colleges and schools in Kazakhstan discussed the issue of teaching history and geography on the basis of national values.
The methodological seminar was organized by the History Department of Zhubanov University. The participants listened the reports: Umbetkhan Sarsembin, the head of the chair of Kazakhstan People’s Assembly and social and political disciplines of Zhubanov University on the national values as the basis of spirituality of the nation; Daulet Abenov, the teacher of the chair of history and religious studies, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor on “Using the features of national values in the educational process”; Ainur Kadyrkulov, head of the center of educational and methodical work and distance learning of the university on “Ways of introducing national values in the educational process”.
Chief inspector of KSU “Center for Study, Restoration and Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage” Marzhan Alaskarova spoke about the role of the center in popularization of national values, and geography teacher of the highest category of Aktobe Bilim-Innovation lyceum, master of pedagogical sciences Elmira Sauleeva and geography teacher of Kandyagashskaya secondary school № 4 Zhuldyz Ordabaeva shared their experience of increasing interest of schoolchildren to national values.
The seminar participants also included directors of secondary schools, teachers of history and geography from Aktobe and Almaty regions, methodologists from the District Education Department of West Kazakhstan region, specialists from the scientific and methodological center, teachers from M. Tynyshbaev Aktau Transport College, Alga Industrial and Technical College and students from the history department.
During the discussion, teachers talked about the importance of preserving moral principles, which for centuries have been passed from father to son as a heritage of the nation. One of the solutions to this problem was proposed to establish strong links between the University – School – Historic Places.
