The head of the MES, Askhat Aimagambetov, recently met with active participants in debates. The Minister said that Kazakhstan is reviving the debate movement among schoolchildren and students, and that debates will become an integral part of the educational work of schools, colleges and universities.
Askhat Aimagambetov stressed that the development of the debate movement should not be formal. The winners of the debate tournaments may receive grants from the rectors of universities.
It is noteworthy that as early as 2019, Zhubanov University introduced benefits and discounts for the best debaters to schoolchildren. And in the spring of this year a republican debating tournament among schoolchildren was organized, where the winners – Beibars Zhaksimanov, a student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Almaty, and Askhat Yesenov, an 11th grader from Aktobe school-gymnasium № 55, received a grant from Zhubanov University. Children from Uralsk and Atyrau who excel in the tournament will be able to study at Zhubanov University at a 50% and 25% discount.

– For today the debating organizations of university have taken under patronage 12 rural and 10 city schools. With the support of the Department of Education of Aktobe region and the Debate Center of the city experienced speakers from 5 debating organizations of Zhubanov University work with students to help develop the debate movement from the school. We will continue our joint work with the Regional Department of Education also in the areas of volunteering, self-government, and the “reading school – reading nation” project.
