The Minister of Education and Science visited Zhubanov University during a working visit to Aktobe. Askhat Aimagambetov took part in an expanded meeting of the academic Council, where he introduced the new rector of the university.
He became a graduate of the Bolashak program, Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Ph.D.) (Nazarbayev University (in partnership with the University of Cambridge), Master of Humanities in Leadership and Management in Education (University of Warwick, UK) Laura Karabasova.
A graduate of Zhubanova University in 2008, in different years she led projects at the Center for Educational Programs of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School, the Higher School of Education of Nazarbayev University, worked at the Information and Analytical Center JSC.
The youngest rector in Kazakhstan and in the history of Zhubanov University, Laura Karabasova, is today among the best scientists in the country (rating for 2021 based on the results of publication activity (Scopus). She is the author of books on the transformation of education, co-authored with world scientists, a member of the National Scientific Council in the field of Education and Science.
Introducing the new rector, the Minister noted the successes of Laura Karabasova in the field of management studies in education: “Laura Chapaevna went from manager to head of department at Nazarbayev University. Having acquired world-class knowledge, she is ready to share her experience at her university,” he said.
Laura Karabasova, in turn, thanked Askhat Aimagambetov and the university staff for their trust.
