The salary of teachers of universities subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan has increased since September of this year. Now university teachers will receive at least 200 thousand tenge per month. The salary of a senior lecturer will be at least 230 thousand tenge, an associate professor – 260 thousand tenge, a professor – 350 thousand tenge (in national universities – 400 thousand tenge).
“Thanks to the support of the Head of State, the Ministry adopted an order on the establishment of the minimum wage for full-time employees of universities. The salary of teachers of universities subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan has already been increased. Also, the maximum amount of one rate will now not exceed 680 hours per academic year, that is, the academic load will be reduced. The change is intended to ensure that the teaching staff has more opportunities and time to engage in scientific activities,” said Vice Minister of Education and Science Kuanysh Yergaliev.
Earlier, at a meeting of the NSOD, the Head of State was instructed to increase the salaries of university teachers. In September 2019, the remuneration of the teaching staff of universities subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science was increased by 20%, in September 2020 – by another 20%. Now the salary has been increased once again, while in order to significantly increase it, the minimum wage and the maximum amount of teaching load have been established.
