The creation of specially protected natural areas (protected areas) is rightfully considered one of the main means for solving many environmental problems. Teachers of the University of Zhubanov initiated the project “Development of a natural-scientific justification of the protected area of the reserve of local significance “Kargaly” in the city of Aktobe. This project has already been approved by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Aktobe region.
The territory proposed by Candidate of Biological Sciences Akylzhan Teleuov and PhD, senior lecturer Umbetali Sarsembin for protection by natural prerequisites is characterized by high biotic and landscape diversity – this is the valley of the Kargala River in the area of the sanatorium “Chaika”. Here, according to scientists, based on latitudinal-zonal features, various unique natural objects, ecosystems, populations, as well as rare and endangered species, plants, for example, the main forest-forming species are poplar, willow, including the red book — sticky alder. The staff of the Department of Ecology came to these conclusions after a two-year study of the ecosystems of the territory.
The creation of a new specially protected zone “Kargaly” and the establishment of special environmental management regimes for individual zones will help ensure the preservation and restoration of the biological, landscape diversity of the natural territory within the city of Aktobe.
