Zhubanov University, among 4 Kazakhstani universities, won a grant to promote key curricula in ecology and environmental sciences at universities in Kazakhstan (Advancing Key Curricula of Ecology and Environmental Sciences in Rural Kazakhstan Universities).
The project was developed in partnership with Michigan State University and Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. The Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, Zhetysu State University named after I.Zhansugurov, the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Akhmet Yasavi also participate in it.
Project objective:
1) Organize an intensive training seminar on the development of new course curricula, which will be attended by teachers from several higher educational institutions in the United States. and Kazakhstan.
2) Establish direct links between teachers of the USA and Kazakhstan, which will promote long-term cooperation in the field of environmental research and education;
3) Prepare a set of curricula, reference books and other educational materials that can be used in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan.
Participants will focus on five core subjects/courses that are mandatory for studying ecology at most US universities. Each of the courses will take place completely as it is taught in the USA, with practical exercises in the classroom and in the field, as well as in the form of online lectures.
