A third-year student of “Physical Culture and Sport” specialty of Professional and Creative Faculty Al-Farabi Bimaganbet was awarded the third place in the World championship in belt wrestling among young men of 18-20 years old which took place in the Russian city of Kazan.
Al-Farabi acting in 62 kg weight category was over his rivals.
Al-Farabi is from Aytekebi district of Aktobe region. Since the earliest childhood he has been keen on sport, and took up wrestling at school. Besides belt wrestling he is a Candidate Master of Sports in kazkhsha kures, judo, sambo.
In March, 2017 Al-Farabi Bimaganbet took the first prize in the Championship of Kazakhstan in the city of Shymkent. Having won the title of the champion of Kazakhstan, and reached the standards of the Master of Sports, he received the permit to the World championship in Kazan.
Athletes from many states competed in the World championship. According to Al-Farabi’s coach, senior teacher of “Physical Culture and Sport” department, Master of Sports of KSSR Roman Toylybayev, belt wrestling began to develop in our country only in the last 3-4 years in spite of the fact that it is one of ancient sports. “Al-Farabi is a perspective athlete. He is sure to achieve great success in sport”, the trainer noted with pride.
