The Nature and historical monuments of the Aktobe region will be shown to the “Khan Kory” festival participants

Today started the annual youth festival “Khan Kory” at the Zhubanov University. The event is timed to the 20th anniversary of Astana and organized by the republican public association “Qazaq Geography” with the support of Zhubanov University and akimat of the Aktobe region.

The festival is an annual project of Qazaq Geography and is held in various regions of Kazakhstan, contributes to the development of youth love for the history and culture of their country. In his welcoming speech, the rector of the University Bauyrzhan Yerdembekov noted that this festival is held within the framework of “Ruhani zhangyry”. He also drew the attention of the participants to the territory of the Aktyubinsk region which is rich for the historical objects. He said that an archaeological laboratory would be opened in the university in the near future, thanks to which the university could contribute to the development of the spiritual revival of the nation.

During the festival at the Zhubanov University will be held a scientific and practical student conference also there will be the contest of creative reports on the topics “Climate Change” and “Water Resources”. Projects are implemented jointly with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the financial support of the European Union and the Global Environment Facility.

According to the project manager of the UNDP project “Development of the National Communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the UNFCCC and Biennial Report” by Saul Sakenov, about 120 participants will take part in the festival for this year – students from 14 Kazakhstan universities, universities of Russia (Orenburg) and Uzbekistan ( Nukus), as well as youth members of Qazaq Geography.

The festival is held for the fourth time. In 2015, the festival dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh statehood which was successfully held in Ulytau, Karaganda region, in 2016 – in the South Kazakhstan region under the auspices of the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in 2017 – in the Pavlodar region as part of the program “Тugan Zher” and the project “Spiritual relics of Kazakhstan”.

The event will continued by visiting the Kobda, Uil and Alga districts. In Kobda district will be organized: the ceremony of laying flowers to the monument to A.Maldagulova on her birthday, visiting to the regional patriotic center and the museum “Aliya”, excursions to the mausoleum of Abat-Baytak, Bulak (settlement A.Maldagulova), and the memorial complex of Kobylandy batyr, excursions to archaeological monuments, sporting events, as well as a gala concert.

In the Uil region, the participants will get acquainted with the sights of the district (“Kokzharskaya Yarmarka”, hot sands Barkyn, the museum named after Sh. Bersiev, etc.), in the Alga district – they will visit memorial complex “Tama Eset batyr”. Also members of Qazaq Geography will visit the Aktyubinsk reservoir.

The Qazaq Geography was created in the October 2013 on the initiative and with the support of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Masimov K.K. and it works in five priority areas: geography, climate; environment, natural resources; biodiversity; tourism, travel, local history; historical and cultural heritage, ethnography. At the present time 11 representative offices are opened in the following regions: Almaty, Akmola, Aktobe, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Mangystau, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan and South Kazakhstan regions. Qazaq Geography implements projects sponsored by the Eurasian Group (ERG) and KAZ Minerals (LLP Vostoktsvetmet).
